MOMENTUM INDICATOR
One of the items of emphasis at the Teachers' College Summits was the Student Momentum Indicator. The momentum indicator model predicts the likelihood (percentage) that students will achieve their enrolled CUs within the current term (between 2 CUs and 15 CUs enrollment). Students are categorized based on their overall momentum indicator into five categories:
Low: <20% likelihood of completing enrolled CUs in the term
Med Low: 20-49% likelihood of completing enrolled CUs in the term
Med: 50-69% likelihood of completing enrolled CUs in the term
Med High: 70-89% likelihood of completing enrolled CUs in the term
High: >90% likelihood of completing enrolled CUs in the term
Students who have completed 15 or more CUs in the term will have a high momentum for the remainder.
A student's momentum indicator is updated daily. The model is checked and validated regularly, and adjustments to the prediction ranges above may be made based on those reviews.
Mentors will include your current momentum indicator in each note they send each week. This is so you know where you are and allows you to adjust as needed to get as close to “HIGH” momentum as possible. Please use this to assist you with your pacing.
